Morning,

I'm outrageously broody, much more so than I was before lovely DS aged 3 1/2. I'm really keen to start trying for number 2.

9 months after DS was born my marriage to his father ended very badly and we've bascially been in court ever since sorting out residency. (to the tune of £0000's)

I have a really lovely new DP who I love to bits, who loves DS and has a great relationship with him. We are more happy than I thought you were supposed to be and although we don't live together yet, once he's found a job we will be doing so and getting married.

I'd always thought I wouldn't want children in a new relationship - step sibling thing I think, but I've been gradually changing my mind.

Anyway, just need some sense talking to me about how I ought to sort out one situation before considering this, I'm -sure- hope I'm just being hormonal..... lovely MN ladies rid me of this urge....

Urrr just noticed it looks like DP doesn't have a job at the moment - he does and it's a very good one, but is 90 miles away where DS and I used to live, he also needs to sell his house - DS and I moved back North after the split to be closer to my family.

I don't think YABU at all! It's so hard being broody and I think it's worse after you've had one child as you have all the lovely first hand experience to look back on.

I remember being broody when DS was only a few months old and feeling really shocked about how I felt. We were pretty much certain we were stopping with 1 (many years of IVF), but decided recently it was now or never (especially with my history and I'm 39) and by some miracle I got pregnant naturally!

I think if you're planning a future and another baby with DP then that will help a lot. The broody feelings will come and go, but you can deal with them in the knowledge that once the time is right you can try for number 2.
