dd has a party to go to this afternoon 2-4 which is normally her naptime so i have spent an hour walking her round and round on her reins in the rain trying to wear her out to have an early nap. (she is 21 months).
dp has played golf this morning and is coming to the party this afternoon.
So at 11 we were back from the walk so i got her milk and snack and settled her down to watch a rudolph dvd and she got all sleepy, plan working so far.
just as she finished her milk dp arrived home and waved to her through the window before starting to get his golf stuff in. dd sleepily says daddys home. so i presume he will come in give her a cuddle and put her to bed or i will put her to bed but she wants to see him before her nap now as she is a real daddys girl.
dp then starts chatting to a neighbour, after 5 mins i take dd upstairs and put her in the cot and she is saying daddys home, i told her hed be up in a minute to see her. after another 5 mins i look out and he is still chatting so i told her daddys not home yet (even though he waved to her) he will be home when she wakes up and she finally settled after about 10 minutes.
finally dp comes in banging his golf stuff about and i had to rush down and tell him she is asleep, he says thats early and i remind him about the party and said she was asking for him as he waved to her and he says oh i forgot, i got talking.
now i seem to have planned all morning round preparing for this party which dd will love! dp has had all morning playing golf and i think it was selfish of him not to consider dd and that once she saw him she wanted him to come in and cuddle her.
dp thinks im being ott and he didnt know she was going to bed and only chatted for 15 minutes.
every time she has an afternnon party i do the same thing and get her down for an early nap so if i can remember why cant he?
[waits to be called very unreasonable]
