I feel like crap as am full of cold so we decided to order a Chinese, then I was going to go and have a bath, and then come down when it arrived.
Ordered food, ran the bath and I had been in 2 minutes (literally as I had a clock int eh bathroom) when DH told me it had arrived!

What sort of weirdo super efficient restaurant delivers in 20 minutes! Now I had to rush my bath and couldn't relax, plus there is no more hot water so can't run another bath (along wit huge waste of water) AND I used up my last Lush bathbomb as well

it's not efficiency, it's microwaves

Report

Think I'd have just eaten it in the bath.

eat it in the bath and be grateful you did not have to wait an hour for it on bank holiday weekend!

i read the thread title as "the efficiency of the chinese" i was thinking it might be something to do with globalisation or maybe the olympics?

total opposite to our local then - they say 20 mins, you go there after 20 mins and then wait another 20 mins while they cook it

Ooops sorry, I feel for you! Ours is always 20 mins quicker than the E.T.A and I always say, 'gosh! that was quick!' I'm never ready either, but I have to order it then, as there's always that time when they are true to their word and they are 40mins! (They never are though!)

oh [looks mournful and hungry]

Ours is always ready in the time it takes to walk there (15mins) and they dont microwave all of it...

Hassled · 13/04/2009 20:17

Ours say every time, without exception, "45minutestoanhour" (very quickly), and then show up almost as soon as I've hung up. It's spooky.

Sorry, 'order a Chinese takeout'

I had a chicken chow mein, wontons and chicken satay, DH had crispy duck pancakes and sesame prawn toast.
I am not a neat eater, so chow mein int eh bath may have defeated me

It's not our usual place, they are shut on mondays

However, this oen gives fortune cookies.

DH's

'prepare for a thrilling time'

Mine
'Facing towards the East will improve your fortune'

does that mean that if you face east and dh shags you that way he will have a thrilling time

JackBauerKilledTheEasterBunny · 13/04/2009 20:45

They did say '30 minutes....or 45...shouldn't be too long'

I mean, how can I plan my night around that?!

I'm sulking - my chinese is taking 1 hour 15 mins atm!

Report
JackBauerKilledTheEasterBunny · 13/04/2009 21:17

It might be because we ordered it at half 6!
DD1 conked out on the sofa at half 5 to I quickly got them in PJs and bed and they were asleep by 6, so it seemed silly to wait!

Our normal place takes 40 mins when we order at 8ish
