I have 2 DC, he has 3 and a small house.
We live about 30 miles from each other. Just wanted to spend Valentines Day with him. But because his children have got various parties/activities it would have to be us going to him. But he says it would be too cramped for us to stay over.
Yes I could have driven over but didn't much fancy driving back late at night with 2 tired children and a lot of snow still around.
AIBU to expect him not to want us to go over and sort of muck in together with airbeds etc.
Feeling quite upset at spending night stuck on my own and a bit sulky. Don't want to say anything I'll regret.

Why not set another night to be your Valentine's treat? It is only a commercial 'holiday' after all.

Yes they have met on 2/3 occassions and get on well.
Think DVD and curry could be on the cards tonight... but it's not the same - or perhaps I ought to try and be mature... no on second thoughts, I spend all week at work being 'mature', want to do petulant now (bottom lip quivering slightly)

Nah. Don't do petulant. Not sexy or romantic at all

It's just a day. Many other times to be together. My DH is in London with DS#1. Has been gone since 7.30 and won't be back till about 10 tonight.
