to expect a photographer...

... to let me view the photos over the internet?

I had some photos taken of my DS while I was in hospital. I'd really like a couple of the photos because, even in a month, he's grown so much.

But, the photographer has said I have to go back to London (where DS was born) to view and choose the photos. This is really difficult for me because DH is away and I don't have any family close by so it means me getting DS (1 month old) into London.

I asked if they could just let me view the photos on the internet and they said no. So, I've asked them to CHOOSE a few photos and I'll select some from the ones they let me see - they said no.

Their advert did say that they provided web hosting but I am not sure if this was only adter the initial viewing...

AIBU or should I ask them again to let me see a couple of the photos on line?

FWIW, I'm more than happy to pay for a couple of the photos and even let them choose them for me - I just would like a record of DS while he was that little...

What do you think?

YANBU, i would ask again. They are your photos and you should have the right to look at them. Can they email you some to choose rather than put then on the internet?

Do you know why they won't let you see them?

I suppose the danger is that if you get copies that you can print them off as many times as you like but if they have web hosting in place then the pictures should be password protected and you won't be able to print them. I used a photographer once who did this - he had his name across all the photos so that you wouldn't want to print them.

I would ask again. Point out that if they can't sort something out then they will miss a sale because you can't get into London.

Alternatively can't they print off passport photo sized ones and you can chose one that way?
