To be annoyed with Nectar Card offer.

I received in the post this Nectar Card offer of a special free treat as a loyal card user. There were lots of lovely things available and I chose to have an Indian Head Massage and if I couldn't get that I chose a pedicure. Well surprise, surprise, not available and the best they can offer is a free gym pass for a week. I just think this such a con. Anyone else tried this offer out?

I haven't personally, but on a local radio station loads of people have e-mailed in to say they've not received their offers. Some of them are only getting free entry for one person to attractions/museums etc. (Which means they have to pay for anyone else going with them ).

I am often annoyed by the Nectar offers. Either I can't redeem them online for a Sainsbury's shop or there's another catch so I end up binning them anyway. Thing is, I s'pose, there's no such thing as a free lunch!

I asked for a spa day or manicure and got a free day out just for one person and there isn't anywhere that close to us either.

Glad I'm not alone. As you say there's no such thing as a free lunch. The only good thing I get out of the Nectar card is that I can redeem my points when I'm shopping at Sainsbury's. Relieves the cost of shopping at Christmas time. IYSWIM.

I asked for a family protrait and got a one person free at an attraction voucher. Needless to say, I am not very impressed - what's the point in giving you options if most of the time you can't fulfill them?

Actually, I think I'm going to redeem my points at Argos and get myself an iTouch - I want something for myself

Yes - it's rubbish. I was offered a family day out when I'd asked for a facial! They told me to hold onto the email and call back a few weeks later. I'll give it a go and see what happens.

I am one of the (few) lucky ones. I asked for a manicure and got one. I go for it next week.

There was a thread about this a couple of weeks ago and most said the same.

Wouldn't it have been better if they'd just sent something (prob the Day out as that's what most of us seem to have ended up with) without a choice.

That way we'd have said "oh that's nice, they've sent me a free day out" instead of "what a swizz I asked for a ..."

(Nectar marketing please take note)

I did mine as soon as I got it.
But wouldn't let me see further details and the photo studio we were allocated is in Barnet! Too far really. And would rather have done something else then.

So if someone wants it (presumably will need to pretend to be me, you can have my old Nectar Card too...) then let me know!!
