What would you make of this job rejection reply

I recently interviewed for a position at the company I manage. We had two strong applicants. One had more experience in general but the other was so full of enthusiasm, confidence, determination and control it really was almost mesmerising. In the end I went with the applicant with slightly better experience in our particular field. The other applicant had incredible experience in the generic field but not as much in the very specific field we are in (although on any normal day she would probably have got the job). It was a tough decision and I contacted references to help make the decision. Both applicants had glowing references. She did ring to chase up after not hearing on the day I said I would call which showed initiative. Anyway I sent a rejection email to her and she responded similar to this: Thank you so much for taking the time to interview me. I found the interview greatly enjoyable and yourself and your colleague were very friendly. I am obviously very disappointed but I understand the decision. I have taken on board your comments and arranged to spend a week shadowing my friend who works in the same field as your department to really work on the area you felt I lacked knowledge. I appreciate greatly your lovely feedback and will use this in subsequent interviews. I am still extremely passionate about working at your company so would definitely apply should anything become available. Thank you so much for all your effort regarding me. Kind regards. As a hiring manager what would you make of that email? I've never had one like that before. I wish there was another position she could have but there isn't. Genuinely not a reverse. I was inspired to write this thread after seeing a similar one today and just wanted opinions on what you make of such a rejection reply. I've not had this response before. I don't want to give my opinion incase it alters results. Just after opinions. Shamelessly not an AIBU.
