I was up in the loft at the weekend and saw some rat droppings in the loft. I legged it but then the first thing I did was knock on my neighbour (we live in a semi) and let them know. We have had problems with rats before and it was thought to be because of a broken drain in their house. It turned out that their loft had been massively infested with all the insulation covered in droppings and urine but no active signs. When I spoke to my next door neighbour she said "oh yes i was going to tell you that they are back, we heard scratching noises and a thumping noise in the loft at bedtime. We have put traps and poison down and my dad who was a builder has sealed up all the gaps between our houses so we don't think they are coming from us. There was only about 15 droppings and nothing has been taken since." I asked when they first heard them and she was a bit shifty and said - oh a few days ago. I dont think you can get all that sorted including bricking up and checking the traps in a couple of days AIBU to think she should have called round, dropped a note or even texted me- immediately as soon as they knew?

AIBU?
AIBU to think my neighbour should have told me that they have seen evidence of rats in their loft and going through to ours
