To all immigrants here in the UK, Please don t feel unwelcome here. I, and most people I know, want you to stay. You contribute a huge amount to our country, economically and culturally. I am so sorry that some people want you to leave but I believe that the majority value your presence here. I work in the Health Service and come into contact with both immigrants and British people. In my experience, almost without exception, your work ethic and your whole attitude to life is much better than British people. You work hard, don t expect handouts, and when you do receive anything, you are really appreciative. You take responsibility for your life, not blaming others when things go wrong, your parenting is excellent, your houses are clean, and you are very keen to master English so you can become friends with your neighbours. I really wish I could say the same about many of the British people I come into contact with. So please know that you are welcome here. Our country would be a much poorer place without you.
