To ask if anyone knows how much sugar is in bottle green cordial?

My dc love juice, they currently drink apple juice half and half with water about 4 beakers a day. Now they are at school they want "squash" like at their friends houses. I have seen bottle green cordial that looks like it has good ingredients although the first item listed is sugar? Does anyone know if it is very high sugar?

Gazillions but it is very nice. Much better to have sugar than artificial sweeteners (and fruit juice is rammed with sugar too...)

Just checked.

Bottle Green has 7.2g/100ml (Bottle Green website)
Apple juice (neat) has 10g/100ml (Google)

Well, it's cordial, so yes, it's high sugar. To make cordial, you basically make sugar syrup and flavour it (and with elderflower, you usually add in some citric acid or lemon to balance the sweetness).

But you do then dilute it, so it's not dissimilar to drinking a can of any other sugary drink (sprite, etc.), depending how strong you make it.

Just googled it - there is 7.2g sugar in 100ml of diluted (1 in 10) cordial, so maybe 14g in an average serving. That works out at approx 3.5 tsp of sugar. I would say it's ok as an occasional treat but not as an everyday drink.

Thanks guys. As I'm diluting the apple juice I guess it's working out 5g a cup then so better than the bottle green! Just need to convince the dc now that they don't need squash!
