AIBU?

To expect a refund?

I ordered some clothes from an online retailer, paid for next day delivery through a courier. As I was in and out all day, I nominated a safe place that the parcel could be left.

I got a text saying the parcel had been left in my safe place, but it wasn't there when I got home. I looked at the tracking thing online and there was a photo of a note saying "Over gate" (not my safe place). It's not over my gate either.

I've raised this as an issue with the retailer and the courier and after many many days of back and forth have now been told that by nominating a safe place I accept responsibility for if the parcel goes missing. But it wasn't left in my safe place!

AIBU to expect a refund and take it further, on the basis that the courier didn't leave it in my safe place and left it somewhere that they perceived to be safe instead?

Thank you, on I go to formal complaints! Just wanted to check I wasn't being horribly unreasonable and a nightmare customer for pursuing it Blush

Did you pay by credit card? If so raise the complaint with the credit card company too and they can seek the refund or reverse the payment.

Yeah, I think that's the next step - I kicked off and did a bit of angry tweeting yesterday and now the investigation has been "opened again" so fingers crossed I'll get a proper answer soon!
