London College of music junior. Worth it?

So DS 13 has got a place at London College Junior, he was going to audition for Royal Academy and guildhall but missed due to illness. He would do individual lessons, GCSE music, jazz and orchestra. He did have to audition but I've read around and some people dont look at LCM in a good it and see it as the easy option. I dont want this for DS id rather push for an audtion to RAM or Guidhall. But he want s to go, it would be a 3 hour trip. SO long day and dont want this school to see it as an easier root iyswim. Anyone with opinions thanks

DH had a place there, didn't go went to RCM eventually. He's a professional musician and also teaches, he doesn't rate it, none of his pupils went there.
