Contraceptive implant removal

Posting here for traffic... Had my implant removed about 8 weeks ago and have not had a period since... Has anyone else had a similar experience?

I'm a little concerned as I'm 38 (as is my partner) and worried I'll have issues conceiving...

Happened to me. Had no period for ages. Then found out I was pregnant.

When I had my implant removed it took about 6 months for my periods to come back. By that point I'd been for blood tests and an ultrasound scan to look for why it was taking so long. In the end they just restarted on their own but it took ages.

I've got two DC now so no long term effects!

I've taken a test just in case, negative :(

Also, I have no children (partner has one) so I hope I have no fertility issues... Am I just worrying too much?

I wouldn't worry. The family planning lady who took mine out says that fertility returns to normal straight away. But periods can take a while to go back to normal. I had a miscarriage in April and my periods are non existent but GP assures me fertility is fine.

Did you get periods with the implant because I have not had one yet. I have taken a test twice and both negative. I am 32 going on 33.

I did have the occasional period mostly towards the renewal date... After the implant run out I was having periods every 3 weeks, and was having one at the time of removal but nothing since...

Sorry for posting so late had a few issues with account. I would go and speak to you're doctor and check you're fertility. This may not be needed but it's worth thinking about IVF. It's not to late to have a child but you may need help. Good luck and remember 1 important thing relax you're body.

Am I stupid for wanting a baby badly? I've been off the implant since September and trying ever since but no luck I know it's not been long but I just really want it to happen I'm being impatient :(

I had a period 5 weeks after I had mine removed. I bled practically all the time whilst on it.
It's different for different people though I would give it a couple of months and just wait. I personally was glad of the break from bleeding tbh
