I have a friend who is in hospital and is not conscious, her partner asked about box sets etc she would like to listen to, I suggested some but then thought it would be nice to put together some sort of music to listen to

I don't have a lot of money though so am looking for the cheapest way, if I got an MP3 player where do I get music from to put it on? I only have a laptop with iTunes so don't want to have to purchase all the music again, but iPods etc are expensive! Unless I got a old second hand iPhone and did it on that? But could I use it as an iPod with out it having a sim?

I'm a bit of a dunce when it comes to technology so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

You can 100% use the iPhone for all its features except calls and texts which rely on the SIM card. So music, games, books, films etc would all be possible. If no internet access available at the hospital you would have to download first at home.

Try cash converters or similar places for second hand iPods. They're a lot cheaper and good as new. I got a 120gb one there a few years ago that's still going strong.

Have you looked at spotify. You can transfer music on to mp3 but it is a bit "techy" but some geek forums would be able to help you with that.
