AIBU?

To not leave a review?

Booked a wax through a bulk discount site. Got a text at 7am that my appointment was cancelled. I'm going away tomorrow and explained this.
Beautician very kindly agreed to fit me in early morning. Which meant I did have to call on someone for emergency school run and get a taxi there which cost six quid. I would have walked if the appointment was the original one.

So I arrive at the salon and it's very run down. The lady takes me into the room and doesn't leave whilst I undress my bottom half. Every salon I've been to the therapist leaves me alone to get ready before hand.
She was very nice and chatty but the wax was the most painful I've ever had and I asked for a brazillian and she left a tiny square at the bottom of my pubis. It looked like a Hitler mustache ShockHmm

So I then asked her to take it all off (a look I don't like at all but was lesser of 2 evils)

And when I looked I realised she was waxing me without any gloves on Shock

But then she proceeded to tell me the reason she had to cancel my original appointment (was sad) and that she was very happy to come to work early to fit me in. Please tell my friends and leave a review on xyz sites.

I told her I would but now I really feel I don't want to as I would rather not leave one than leave a negative-ish one when she was so nice.

She text to thank me and remind me to leave a review. I feel rather bad.

She also didn't leave me alone whilst I got redressed and commented on my knickers and the fact I had shorts on under my dress, which made me feel a bit uncomfortable- chub rub Grin

Why don't you leave a review? It doesn't have to be all positive. I'm a bit of a review fiend, but I make sure the negative ones I write are always constructive, honest and mention any good points too.

I left a review last week after a really awful brunch (but lovely coffee!) and the cafe replied to apologise and say they fed back to the kitchen. I'm really glad they did because I don't feel comfortable knowing anyone else had to try and eat what they served me!

Oops, I meant to say YANBU first!

Because I feel bad giving a less than praise full one after she came to work 30 mins early to fit me in and the circumstances of her having to cancel were bad.

Could you maybe just say something like 'lovely friendly staff' and literally leave it at that?

Then why don't you say "Very accommodating service, I would say that the wax was one of the more painful ones I've had!".

You really don't owe them any favours though, I think leaving a positive review when the overall experience sounds no better than a 2/5 would be misleading to future customers

"Modest premises but the therapist was friendly and accommodating" type of thing. Focus on the positives without being effusive.

Would you go back or recommend them to a friend? I assume not because it was painful and not really what you asked for as well as being uncomfortable so I'd leave a review. I would put that she was very nice and went out of her way after your initial booking was cancelled but be honest.

Missing the point completely here but I'm intrigued by your Hitler Minge. Pics or it didn't happen. Grin
