In my defence, we buried my lovely MIL today, and have been trying to explain to DD, 6.

Flowers

It's a wonderful film, I sobbed uncontrollably too.

Is that the Tinkerbell one where he sleeps for a thousand years? If so, it destroyed me and my 10 year old son. The 5 year old is slightly possessed by demons so doesn't cry at anything, but normal humans shouldn't be allowed to watch stuff like that.

I cried too. In the cinema Blush.

I don't really understand why they wouldn't see Gruff again though, I thought nobody ever aged or died in Neverland, would the fairies not still be there when he wakes up again?

I love this film. DD (2) loves Gruff. She doesn't get why we are so sad when Gruff goes to sleep!

Jesus fucking Christ that was horrific. I was a mess. That song at the end.

I think for me it's the parallels to death and the almost funeral at the end. I am an emotional wreck anyway at the moment, what with MIL this month, and my own DF last month.

It was very moving. I thought it was just me as I had to wipe my eyes when we took the dc to see it. Ds3 is obsessed Tinkerbell. Ds4 pretends he doesn't like it but he was engrossed, as was dh.

I cried too, both in the cinema and when DS got it on DVD. Something you're expecting to be fluffy and harmless shouldn't be so sad at the end.

I'm not surprised you cried with your MIL too Flowers

Oh. Not just me then.

I love all the Tinkerbell films.

That film always gets me! I remember watching it first on holiday and wiping the tears away. I love it though. I'm sorry for your loss OP Flowers

We love Tinkerbell too. DD got the DVD box set for her birthday a few weeks ago, and we watched this one for the first time the other day. She likes to watch them several times over, and it wasn't any less tear jerking second time round.

It's the only film to make my 6 year old DD cry. We saw it at the cinema when it came out and she as fine (bit younger) but re-watched at home quite recently. I was quite unprepared as she's pretty tough. She just came running over to me wailing and said 'I love Gruff'. It was heartbreaking. Good film tho and I much prefer the fairies to princesses. Perhaps because they're a bit more industrious

I saw it just as I was making the decision to put our old lady cat to sleep. I cried my flippin eyes out.

Definitely not being unreasonable! I sobbed my heart out to that flipping film whilst my children looked at me like I'd lost it Blush we have watched it again today and I turned it off before that part......
