I advertised a large household item for free. I got a quick response from someone I'll call Frank. We arranged for him to collect it at 9am this morning. The time was Frank's idea. All very pleasant.

Frank didn't show up at 9am. I messaged him at 9.30 just encase he got lost. No response. I called him through the app at 10am. Phone rang out.

The item is large and is in the way so really need it gone asap.so I messaged Frank at 11am if you don't respond by 12noon I'll relist. No response.

I relisted the item at 12.30. I messaged Frank at 1.30 to tell him I relisted it and if he wants it let me know. No response. someone responded and collected at 3pm

I have just messaged Frank to say it's not available anymore. I now have a response. Frank doesn't answer his phone or respond to texts etc when he has his kids. He had them this morning. Just dropped them off. He was on this way to me to collect the item. He thinks iabvu and selfish. Cue sob sorry about needing item.

Item was a rug. Aibu?

Frank is a pain in the arse. Frank is also typical of the losers you find on Gumtree.

Seriously, I once cleaned out an office with thousands of pounds of commercial grade furniture. Desks that most people wouldn't entertain buying for the home. They needed to go asap and we turned to Gumtree.

Everyone wanted the desks delivering. One even called us back because she couldn't get it upstairs. She genuinely expected us to take it apart, take it upstairs and reassemble for her convenience.

I hate Gumtree
