Apologies if anyone has already posted about this, but I just spotted this on Yahoo News. I thought the Daily Mail was the usual culprit but it seems to be catching on.... here is the link...

Either a follow up or it was done by a news agency (who make their money by selling to all news outlets)

It was on Huffington post too, I think everywhere else has grabbed it from daily mail sharing it

Fuck me people don't bloody read do they! I know it's a standing joke on here now but the amount of comments on Yahoo saying "cancel the cheque!" Read the bastarding article!

I think after more than 1000 posts and the fact this has gone viral, it's a suggestion that just may have already been thought of by now!

You can't write anything on here without it being grabbed up by the press.

The Irish independent has also taken the entitled wedding gift story and published a story based off the thread.

The Mail for the most part aggregates other news stories for clicks I guess they are all getting in on the act.

I wonder if the bride and groom have seen it in the news? I doubt they would identify themselves but the op should so people can steer clear of the greedy bastards.

I wonder how many Mumsnetters are paid to start threads purely for the media to pick up on? Wink

Oh for goodness sake. Mumsnet is a public forum not some sacrosanct private place.
