I've been having a problem with an energy supplier with threatening letters. I phoned them and told them the person hasn't lived here since 2008. they went OK we'll take it off our system...and they didn't as they passed my address to a debt collectors.

so I've had enough and publicised it on twitter but now I feel bad as it's not like me to do it but I feel like it's the only way to get their attention.

Yanbu, but my employer like many has a policy about this so I mostly can't do it.

they replied back to me and told me to message them. which has I did but no reply. I feel like that was just so I didn't do an uproar in public

I have found Twitter really effective at getting complaints addressed. I remain polite in my tweets though, and I am using a nickname on Twitter so I am fairly invisible to the world. Good luck, i hope your issue gets resolved.

Give them a chance but re-tweet them if they do not get back to you.

Don't feel bad! It's fine. You gave them the opportunity to fix things and they didn't. I expect they will now.

hopefully they do. I've also emailed the debt collectors and they returned with a bitter reply.

I'm going to give them another hour and half as I spoke to them over an hour ago and they replied to my rant when it was public straight away.

It's not First Utility is it? I've finally gone to OFGEM about their uselessness. I complained on Twitter (after numerous phone calls). And they were all super polite and "we'll get someone to contact you straight away", but it made no difference.

no It's not them haha.

what I don't get is how he's owed it them since 2008 but only just getting these letters. is it possible he's using our address so he doesn't have to pay it back
