To NOT make these workmen a hot drink?

Had some work done on my driveway a couple of months ago. Basically it was a shit job and has caused more problems than it solves. Phoned the company and the owner came out to have a look at the job (he didn't do it, he also didn't do the quote, those were all different people) and I explained what the problem was and his attitude was basically appalling. He agreed reluctantly to come back and put it right, but the way he spoke to me really got my back up. Anyway he and the guys who originally did the work have come this morning to sort it. When I opened the door to hinge just glared at me silently (which I took as a que to tell him what I wanted doing). His attitude was even worse, telling me that's not what I asked for (it was) then saying what they had already done is ok (it's not), then saying that what I am asking them to do is wrong (it isn't). All the time he can't seem to look me in the eye and the fact that they have come back in force to sort it suggests he knows his guys fucked up first time. Basically they did a half arsed job and then covered it up to look 'done'.

So, I really don't want to talk to him anymore. I just want them to sort it and fuck off. I'm not even asking for the whole job to be done again. Just the heavy/dirty work, me and DH are going to finish it off ourselves.

Anyway, seeing as he has spoken to me like a cunt on two occasions now, AIBU to not make any hot drinks? I imagine they will be here a few hours

How bad a job is it? Is it small claims court worthy?

No YANBU, I wouldn't bother either. I would stand at the window/door with a steaming cuppa to watch & make sure they're doing what you asked though.

No, yanbu but I would be the bigger person and just make them one anyway. If you don't they will rush anyway to go and get one so you may as well.

No not small claims worthy, just some remedial work that didn't remedy anything and made the issue worse. No serious damage though although could have been if we hadn't noticed it was a shit job and it had been left long term.

I am sitting on the sofa with a cuppa, they can see me and I don't care.

I'm not going out because I want to be here when they finish so I can inspect. I've also got a man coming to quote me for new blinds at some point this morning.

Our ndn had some dodgy people in to do their drive.

Like you a different person each time and suspected illegal immigrants doing the actual work.

Got half the job done badly before they paid them off to leave.

Had trading standards round as they had been after them.
