Before having a baby I was 8 stone at just over 5 foot 2. I had an extremely worrying pregnancy, and baby was born at 35 weeks and we were in hospital 3 weeks then had more worries and numerous appointments and stress that have only recently started to resolve (baby is amazing of course Grin). After giving birth I was 10 stone, and have managed to get down to 9 stone 2lbs but can't seem to lose more (am very active and eat healthily) i have always been very worried about weight (at uni I was a bit very obsessive....)

AIBU to think sod it and just enjoy my baby (she's 4 months old now) as family told me I look good (during my KIT days colleagues said I looked exactly the same as pre pregnancy Hmm ) or are they just being kind?

Maybe you look better with a bit more weight and this is their tactful way of saying it?

Losing 12lbs after 4 months is great, it's a really steady weight loss which is the best way. I'm the same height as you but used to weigh 2 st more before pregnancy, I'm not massive but have an hourglass shape that just looks odd without a bit ofvflesh, I've massive norks too so need to balance those out! I'm definitely still a bit heavier than I'd like, my baby is 18 weeks and I'm down to 10st, my goal.is about 9-9st 7, if I lost another 7lbs I'd be ecstatic. Your body.changes after babies anyway, and once they're toddling then activity levels go up. Much better to be.healthy enough to enjoy this time with your baby than to worry about what the scales say!

Thanks guys, maybe you are right, guess it's because one of my friends came home from hospital in her size 6 jeans I was hoping I would be so lucky!

It took me a year and a half to lose my baby weight. I wasn't going to starve myself while breastfeeding and getting no sleep! So no, YANBU. Congratulations, firstly! Enjoy your time with your baby and focus on looking after yourself and being healthy. You'll figure our what's right for you and what you feel happy with.

Once you go back to work you'll probably find you lose some weight and as long as your BMI is ok then don't stress.
