I was looking on ebay to find sew in name tapes for clothes as dd is starting nursery.

Somebody us selling 17 used name tags with John (something) on.

Good luck to her. It made me smile.

Unfortunately, dd isn't called John.

There is a signed Elton John CD on sale in the window of an antiques/knick knacks shop near me. It's signed "To Graham and Sally, love Elton." I always think that's a pretty niche potential market, which is probably why it's still in the window.

It's a long shot isn't it!
But worth a try I guess!

Post it on the baby names forum. Great thrifty tip for the less fussy baby namers.
My son is called George Clarke because we intend to buy all his clothes in Asda and Clarks and can't be bothered to sew in name tapes.

OP, could you change your DD's name to John?

Or just tell the nursery that this is the name you want her to be known by?

Wish I'd thought of the George Clark thing. I hate nametapes Grin

To be fair it's a reasonably common both first name and surname. She will have more luck than anyone selling marmaduke edmond farnsworth name labels...

Highly recommend the sticker name tags from mynametags.

If there isn't a John Woods in the school then if you bought them everyone would know that clothes labelled John Woods belonged to your kid. And if there is a John Woods, you can direct his Mum to some cheap name tapes. Win-win Grin

I would suggest the name "Toblerone" for a new baby.

That would be a great money-saving idea for later in life if he or she got a job in an office that needed one of those desk-top name plates.

Toblerone is a great name!!

Probably not for a child. But for a cat or something.

I need another child. Tobelerone is awesome!
If he unreasonably decides to hate it, he could simply be Toby.
The downside of George Clark is all the random lost property items that will get returned to you.
