The ever inctreasing number of people who walk about town glued to their iPhones, striding along at a fast walking pace, occasionally glancing up.

"I'm soo clever I can multi-task and I'm so busy-and-important everyone make way for me "

Not a though for anyone who is visually or mobility impaired or who might Hell-Mend-Them stop without warning (as my Mum does, she can sometimes physically just not take the next step)

Then we have the Walking With A Pram and on the phone. The pram is like some sort of battering ram

Then the One Person on the iPhone, someone else 'leading' them, either beside them or holding their hand.

I'm Hmm at them all.

But a new phenonenum. (Especially in shopping centres so no traffic to worry about) The walking with iPhone with headphones in

So - can't hear what's going on. Not looking either.

I do frequently keep walking. In a straight line. I don't step out of their way.
Sometimes the look Shock on their little faces when GASP there's another person in a busy shopping centre.
And on occasion I say "Look where you're fucking well going eh?"

Especially near the bit in the carpark where the Blue Badges spaces are.

It's getting worse. And now it's 'A Thing' that people can't just walk without peering at their screen.

I remember when a "walking iphone" walked into someone with messy food. The scene and the verbal exchange was quite messy. I wish i could have filmed it

Grin

You ever see teenagers people walking about with their phone on loudpeaker and theyre holding it about 2 inches out from their mouth? Well my boyfriend has taken to very loudly and embarrassingly saying "thats not how you use a phone!" When he sees this. Grin

My day was made so much better when a woman glued to her screen walked straight into a lamppost I a very busy high street, she then gave it the filthiest look I ever saw before returning to the screen whilst everyone else looked on Grin

i haven't seen anyone disgrace themselves (yet. But I'm waiting)

My worry is they'll walk into someone else rather than a plate glass window (I've done that myself without a phone. There were no stickers or markings on it. I felt like a tit Blush )

these aren't young tenagers in the main, they're 16+, 20s.30s. old enough to know better

I've seen this a lot. I never move out of the way, I either stop still or just carry on the same way I'm going. You remember those physics lessons? I AM that immovable object. (Think brick outhouse) It's kinda fun. Grin

I like walking with phone, pushing pushchair and walking dog. My favourite though is horse riders on the phone Angry

Oh and the jogger with headphones that did an angry "you made me jump" thing as I slowed right down to pass him - jogging on the road on the "wrong" side despite paths each side. Twat.

I often walk with my headphones in and appear to be glued to my phone. I have Asperger's and its my way of screening out so I don't get too stressed. I can still see where I'm going as evidenced by the fact that I rarely if ever walk into anything- no more frequently than if I don't have my phone out anyway!
