We can motivate each other if you like Smile I'm going to start a gym membership tomorrow as it's the 1st. I'm sick of feeling under-confident about my weight and shape!

I gain a similar amount in pregnancy. My regular diet is quite stable, so I can lose the weight by being a bit more mindful about treats, and gently rebuilding my fitness as it gets trashed by SPD, starting with walks with the pram. I go slowly and gently, but it stays off. BFing increases my appetite, so I aim to make the snacks more filling rather than a quick energy fix.

Yes, you can do it, but be gentle to yourself. No need to rush if you're not ready, and don't be harsh when you're adjusting to the demands of a new baby.

Oh goody, welcome pumpkin and Jewels! (OP I hope you don't mind me saying that, as I know you started the thread!)

I've also eaten my feelings this week and I feel like total shite - you know the bloaty feeling you get after too much crap? I'm going to kick my butt into gear tomorrow. I've bought some workout clothes as well so I can't let myself waste the money from that.

OP as MrsMook rightly said, don't feel under pressure to rush and get rid of pregnancy weight-gain as it's quite soon, but my earlier offer still stands.

I had baby number 2 almost six weeks ago now, and Monday is my "start" date.

I have 3 stone to lose, it feels like an impossible task but I know realistically it's going to take the rest of the year.

Tomorrow will be a day of eating crap and then Monday I am going to start my 'new life'.

I went ww last year and from jan to october I went from 15st 5lbs, to 10st 4lbs. Fastforward to march 2015 and I am nearly 13st Blush. Dunno what happened but I tell ya what. It's unacceptable and I refuse to accept it. I am starting fresh tomorrow. Holiday in july and it is my aim to lose 2 stone by then. Ive done it before and I am angry with myself that I am here again, remembering how fab I felt at a size 10/12. I WILL Return.

Hello! Can I join you? I have about a stone and a half of baby weight to lose. My youngest DS is 9!

I'm going to Glastonbury in June and would love to be a comfortable 12 by then (currently a tight 14).

Shall we all start together on Monday?

7 weeks ago I finally got into the right headspace to lose weight. I was hitting size 16 and decidedly fat. Well, 7 weeks on I've lost 19lbs by eating healthily, 3 meals a day and no additional exercise. I'm now down to a size 12. If you're ready to do it, go for it, you can turn things round really quickly if your mind is properly set on it.

I'm in! I'm starting tonight, have bought myself a healthy meal instead of the burgers DH and the Dds are having, and would love to have someone to lose weight with. Dds don't need to and whenever DH tries to do it with me he gives up and I follow suit. When I do it alone I succeed!

I decided today was the day to start a spring clean type of improved eating plan (not a diet!) as have managed to gain over a stone despite training for a marathon.

Have signed up on myfitnesspal (hate the name but the app seems v g) as easy to keep track as has food and exercise diary.

Then came across this thread :) I too have a nine year old and still have 'baby weight' to lose fantastic.....

Well it technically is still baby weight Gilmore ha ha!

Well done Lulu - amazing achievement. You're post has really inspired me for tomorrow.

Moly - Great news. Good to have some support.

Hello new posters, what a wonderful support thread Smile well done SillyBub, that's so motivational and exactly the kind of thing I need to read right now! My long-term goal is to lose 35lbs, but I want to be sensible and try to do it in blocks of 5lbs.

I'm feeling proud of myself after finally taking the first step and joining the gym today, so Lulu, fantastic and moly I'm in. They have a surprising amount of free classes for members and I'm aiming to attend 3 or 4 a week; Monday - Aerobics, Tuesday - Indoor Cycling & Abs, Wednesday - Pilates, and Thursday - Legs, Bums and Tums. They're all fully-booked apart from LBT so I'll go to my first class on Thursday, and I'm going to go after work on Tuesday to familiarise myself with the place and go on a few machines.

Salad, yoghurt and fruit for dinner tonight. Here goes!!!

Welcome WONAR . Well done on joining the gym.

I have 2 x 13 hour shifts tomorrow and Tuesday so I've made a stir fry with noodles to have both lunch times and will take porridge to have for breakfast and soup for my later break. My dangerous time is when I get home around 9.30 and feel hungry and tired.

I think there is a forum on here for weightless support. Should we meet up over there?

WONAR · 02/03/2015 17:32

Good idea Fantastic, if you start a thread there and post the link we can all find it and support each other.

My dangerous time is after work, I'm peckish and I want to snack! I deliberately don't buy snack foods because I know I'll gorge. I made the mistake of buying 2 packs of Club biscuits two weeks ago - they were gone in an embarrassingly fast amount of time Blush

Hello! Can I join too? Smile
I lost 2.5 stone nearly a decade ago and felt pretty good for a while - but, despite lots more short lived dieting attempts, it has gradually gone back on again and now I have 3.5 stone to lose Sad

I have a milestone birthday this year and want to TTC next year and I really want to get healthy and slim for these things.

My diets usually fail because I set my self unachievable rules or targets and then give up completely when it goes just a little bit wrong. I need a realistic plan I can stick too!

Can I join you? Need all the help I can get Smile Have had issues with food and booze all me adult life. Got my act together and lost 5 and a half stone back in 2009-10 through exercise and eating properly. 3 and a half has crept back on the past 2 years through emotional eating and drinking. Definitely time for a permanent change.
