AIBU?

To wonder what on earth was happening at this nursery?

DD and I passed a nursery earlier today. As we approached it FOUR police cars raced past us with blue lights and sirens going and screached to a halt outside the nursery. All 8 police officer then went inside the nursery. There was also a police van across the road (empty of police officers) and two ambulances.

I persuaded DD that hanging around and rubber necking wasn't going to help but AIBU to still wonder what on earth was happening and want to find out.

There's nothing on local media. I keep imagining awful things not least because we nearly put DS in that nursery but chose one round the corner.

It would have made my blood run cold to see that sort of emergency call out at a nursery. I don't want to know though.

I understand why you would be concerned but I'm sure it will come out in the media at some point. It may be some kind of medical emergency and I'm sure they would want to tell the family first.

Oh don't, you know when you leave them and you're at work and you have that secret moment of fear that something terrible will happen? I hope it wasn't anything terrible...

My guess is parent/family member who is not allowed access to child has tried to pick them up and kicked off when told no.

It's happened at our school a few times.

Either that or a parent/carer has kicked off about something (also happened at my school, saying that we serve a bit of a challenging area and are a flagged school with the police)

Ye gods!

I suspect you may get a bit toasted for being so nosy... but what the hell that could be is scary!

Local media? Newspapers etc. I doubt many would be able to just file that away without wanting to know.

Sadly last time that happened round here the outcome was horrendous.

Hope it works out okay. Do you know anyone from the nursery you could ask?

Facebook will no doubt reveal all, wether it is true or not is a different matter.

I would have thought what KittyandTeal suggested. I expect schools and nurseries would get sent lots of police officers if they were available in a situation like that. But didn't explain the ambulances.

Maybe a child pressed the panic button. Like I did at primary school when left alone to tidy heads office. I just arrived what it was. ...
