I had a cough since the middle of January. It ebbs and flows. I have been to my gp mid feb who gave me antibiotics for a week which seemed to be working as it was markedly better after a few days. But as soon as Id run out it just gradually got worse. I went back to the gp who listened to my chest and said it was clear so wont give me anything.
I cant get a nights sleep as im either coughing like a rabid dog, or have been coughing so much Ive coughed myself awake, am now so tired and fucked off with it even the whistling of my throat is keeping me awake.
If its going to get better I just wish it would hurry up already cos now its taking the piss.

oh and im now too awake to sleep and will be up in about 6 hours with DS (who for some reason just cannot get up later than 0530).

If it's anything like the one I had, I was told it lasts about 6 weeks.......then takes about 2 weeks or so to completely disappear. It's a bugger !

Sorry to tell you this but I've had my cough since December. Doctor wouldn't even prescribe me antibiotics just told me that I was unlucky as some coughs and colds could last 3 months.

Just about due another visit I reckon.

Go back to the doc. Or to a different doc. DH has had a cold since January, he eventually went to the GP and they gave him ventolin, his cough went with 3 days...
