I think there must be a list of about 10 to choose from.

Where's the imagination? It's all so ...traditional and safe.

Jack, Oliver, Adam, Simon, Max, Samuel -

YANBU. Nigel would have been so much better. Or maybe Jason.

HeySoulSister Wed 24-Jul-13 18:54:54

Zara??

It is a boring non imaginative name.
I had hoped that they may have gone for something a bit more modern.

Prince Johnny Depp Tyler would have been my choice grin

I just said this on another thread - they have chosen perfectly lovely names, but the same as all their ancestors.

formicadinosaur Wed 24-Jul-13 18:57:20

I love the name

diddl Wed 24-Jul-13 18:57:30

There's also savannah & Isla now.

Read somewhere that Edward & Sophie wanted Theodore for their son but were vetoed.

AnnabelleLee Wed 24-Jul-13 18:57:54

Did you really think there would be a future King Tyler?

The further you get away from the throne the more adventerous they get. Eugenie, Savannah, Zara, Isla, Margarita, Arthur......

SmiteYouWithThunderbolts Wed 24-Jul-13 18:59:11

Read somewhere that Edward & Sophie wanted Theodore for their son but were vetoed.

<sniff> Theodore is a perfectly regal name IMO.

I'm still hoping for Prinze Harpoonz Killah Wales

IMO anything else will look tired and mouldy in comparison grin

It's tradition. And actually not that dissimilar to names of kids I know.

I like it but DH had remarked the same as you OP. We tried to think of other names but most of them sound a bit shit when you put King in front.
Apart from Ralph maybe.

Edendance Wed 24-Jul-13 19:04:10

Agreed! They should have just swapped the first two names around- Prince/King Alexander George Louis would have at least been a little refreshing. George is a lovely name but very boring as a Royal baby name choice, what'll he be- George 7th??

How about
Kong
Offa castle

TheVermiciousKnid Wed 24-Jul-13 19:05:17

Kong would have been good. Almost as good as Nigel.

He might actually be George VIII as Prince Charles has considered changing his name if he becomes King so he is George VII rather than Charles III.

George VI was called Albert.

LottieJenkins Wed 24-Jul-13 19:07:08

I had to chuckle at Ralph.......... Made me think of King Ralph with John Goodman!!

King Nigel I

I like it!

Badvoc Wed 24-Jul-13 19:08:31

They are perfectly nice names but pretty obvious...I thought all 3 would be in there somewhere!l

TheVermiciousKnid Wed 24-Jul-13 19:10:16

Maybe King Kong Nigel?

EspressoMonkey Wed 24-Jul-13 19:10:43

Sofleon was my choice, shame they didn't use it.

TheVermiciousKnid Wed 24-Jul-13 19:11:20

Or how about Sized as a first name and Bed as a middle name?
