Mercedes (in our area) are as useful as a chocolate fire guard...
1) trying for six weeks to get car booked in for a service. Got nowhere you would think I was trying to get an appointment with the Pop
2) they never return calls, very f@@king irritating
3) they just called to say they had serviced my car but they FORGOT, yes FORGOT to replace my worn and faulty breaks but were happy for me to pick it up and drive off in it tomorrow. I have to be on the road a lot because of work so I wonder what they would have said had I crashed due to faulty breaks....

To say the least I just kicked off..... I don't expect a response but I have to have rant. angry

that is bad news ,just out of interest ,who is the pop? and why would you wish an audience with this pop? and if you got one ,would you MN the result?

UnexpectedItemInShaggingArea Sat 27-Apr-13 18:01:44

* piece.

LittlePeaPod Sat 27-Apr-13 18:08:28

Sorry I meant the Pope... I was so angry when sending message didn't read it... blush. But if I met him. I may well upload to a video or update MN with results....

Did your brakes break?

WTFisABooyhooISBooyhoo Sat 27-Apr-13 18:12:39

so they didn't complete the service? dont pay. have you already?

lovelilies Sat 27-Apr-13 18:12:53

At least you have a Merc...and a job... what are you moaning about?! grin
Piece out, man wink

WTFisABooyhooISBooyhoo Sat 27-Apr-13 18:13:43

also, you're allowed to say the naughty words on here grin

JeremyPiven Sat 27-Apr-13 18:14:33

I am also not talking to Audi. I will be trading in my mouldy A3 with dodgy electrics for something cheaper and more reliable.

ComposHat Sat 27-Apr-13 18:19:01

Take it to a different garage if they are so useless. it doesn't need to be serviced at aain dealer to preserve the warranty.

is this thread a stealth bosst that ypu own a Mercedes? I might try a 'pissed off with the price of Rolls Royce spares' thread.*

*I actually drive a geriatric Toyota

LittlePeaPod Sat 27-Apr-13 18:21:44

firstly new to this so not to sure of what is and is not acceptable and excuse the spelling (auto text) and I am dyslexic so rely on auto text a lot. blush

They called to say I could pick car up tomorrow but as no service team in they wanted me to pay over the phone. I told them to fuck off and that I was going to turn up and kick off in the garage in front of all their customers tomorrow. They are now giving me a courtesy car and a discount on the service and new breaks. Still irritated though...

I take your point on the job... I am very grateful for that in the current climate.

LittlePeaPod Sat 27-Apr-13 18:23:53

Compos - no bread is about the stupid service from them not the car....

ComposHat Sat 27-Apr-13 18:24:02

Fuck and cunt are the building blocks of most sentences on here. Feel free to let rip.

LittlePeaPod Sat 27-Apr-13 18:24:21

Sorry that should say thread not bread blush

WTFisABooyhooISBooyhoo Sat 27-Apr-13 18:26:17

good for you OP. i'm not sure what response they expected when they rung you up to tel you they hadn't done the job you asked them to confused surely it would have been better for them to just do the brakes and then call you to say it was ready? or if that was going to be behind schedule then call you and say they were running behind and would give you discount and courtesy car.

SwishSwoshSwoosh Sat 27-Apr-13 18:27:45

If you are new here, one piece of advice from me - never feel you have to explain to the spelling police. They are beneath contempt for making people with dyslexia explain themselves IMO.

ComposHat Sat 27-Apr-13 18:28:40

There will be independent garages who specialise in Mercedes cars out there. They will probably be cheaper and actually care about your custom. The independent Toyota specialist I used (and bought the car from) was brilliant. I think Honest John's website is a good starting point for decent independent garages.

LittlePeaPod Sat 27-Apr-13 18:32:55

WTF - exactly.. Thats what sent me over the edge.

Swish - thank you but I have to admit I am a bit self conscious about it. Will ignore in the future.

Compos - I won't be using them again...

thenightsky Sat 27-Apr-13 18:35:50

Bloody Merc in this area took my car in for a service, but wrote it off instead! shock

LittlePeaPod Sat 27-Apr-13 18:38:42

Thenightsky...

What the fuck?? They are truly useless! How on earth did they write your car off? To be fair though it doesn't surprise me....

Hahaha WTF. Love the name.

OP, dont worry about the spelling. It made sense to me.

I would be livid. Good on you for kicking off. So many people in this country would have just paid. Thats the problem. We get taken for mugs.

WTFisABooyhooISBooyhoo Sat 27-Apr-13 18:44:12

grin

thought i'd save any confusion

LittlePeaPod Sat 27-Apr-13 18:49:00

Wannabe - thanks... I may not be the best in the spelling department but I can kick off with the best of them when people take the mick (like the whole service thing) or are just plain nasty and rude. No need.

Plus I agree we should stand up to them when service is poor...
