AIBU?

To be amazed at how much fuss DS is making

Ds (16) is going away tomorrow, for 4 night residential trip (trying not to jump up and down with glee).

To give him credit, he has spent the last week slowly working his way through the washing mountain in his bedroom, all by himself, to make sure he has enough clothing to take with him.

Now he is packing. He started packing about an hour ago (having had 2 days of sitting around doing fuck all to deal with first). He even has a list of what to take.

He has asked me to do his packing for him at least 6 times. I am refusing. He almost did a Rylan a few minutes ago. He keeps sitting and stareing at it as if it will all magically jump off the living room floor into the bag all by itself.

Seriously, I have never seen anyone make such a fuss about putting some clothes into a bag!

LOL at the Rylan comment! I would be lying on the sofa whistling cheerfully and swigging gin as I ignored him. Grin

Perhaps he is quite nervous about going?
Can you be kind and help him?

Oh God I couldn't watch it, I'd have to bung it all in for him just get to get it over with.

Don't do it!

I've been packing for my DH for 22 years!

I don't mind much as he has a total blank spot for clothes, but sometimes it's just a touch irritating.

Unfortunatly as I have to get DD's up at the crack of dawn to drive him and his mate the 70 miles there, gin is off the menu, but I may well tomorrow night Grin

Norks, don't think he is particularly nervous, he has been doing residentials on his own with the orchestra and cadets for years, usually he packs his stuff without much fuss (or thought).

What's he doing still up?? I couldn't be done with that... I need my space and not some stompy teen huffing about the place at this time of night.... but hey, as he's up, yep - shove the whole basket in his direction Grin

... and actually quite impressed he knows what to do with an iron!!

Rylan is a contestant on the X Factor who has to be seen to be believed! He bursts into tears at the slightest thing and gets himself as hysterically wound up as a toddler having a tantrum. Try googling 'Rylan crying' and just look at the images! Absolutely ridiculous!

Sorry, but this has really tickled me. What does it even mean?! Grin Presumambly he can dress himself? Which means it's not really a blank spot, but more a if-I-can-palm-the-drudge-chores-off-on-some-other-sucker-I-will thought process. Wink

After 9 years together, DH still asks me to pack for him, and I still say no. Good on him for asking, I guess.
