Well... I have loads of glass storage jars.... You can't recycle them and I have no random crap to store in them.
Would I be unreasonable to throw it away?. I get pangs of guilt everytime I do, yet cannot find a use for it!
Anyone else think of a use for one?

Yes, use it to assist in filling up your bin :)

Are you sure it can't be recycled? They take them where I live.
If not, it would make the right kind of container to clean paint brushes in or use in the shed for random nails and screws.

Do you not have children with endless amounts of treasure crap?

Why do you keep buying them - why not buy beans in tins and tip them into the plastic pot? At least you can recycle the tins?!

I keep my silicone bun cases in one.

Try buying recyclable tins? But keep one of the plastic ones to keep any usused beans from the tin in Grin

Yes, I have children and unfortunately they have large bits of crap not small bits of crap!
I didn't think of screws and nails -might be a bit safer than a glass jar of screws.
I also just now thought of putting my favorite biscuits in one and putting it up somewhere high (kids raided the biscuits Yet again!)
Beamur, squeakytoy: Recycle people won't take the jars because they are a "type 5" plastic and will only take types 1&2 bottles only plastic. You have to be careful because if you have too much unsuitable plastic, they won't take it..
Headfirstforhalos: that is probably the best use for the baked bean jar! [big grin] tins are a lot easier to recycle than plastic anyway, so I will probably will do that!

Now I wish I hadn't of thrown the other two away! :)
