AIBU?

to think that people with runny noses who intend to travel on public transport in close proximity to other people should carry tissues with them

rather than snort in other people's ears every 30 seconds for half an hour?

Yes, of course, sometimes people run out, or forget them. But seriously I can only remember a handful of times when I have had no tissues on me. They're just one of those things I carry around with me, like money, and keys. Whereas everyone who sits next to me on the train at the moment just snuffles juicily at me. They don't even try to do it serreptitously. I harbour dark suspicious that they never carry tissues.

YABU

Today is the first day my hayfever has kicked off this year. Blowing my nose makes no difference, I just have to sniff. Sorry.

Yes!
I was on a packed train yesterday and the bloke next to me just bent his head and sneezed towards the floor. No hand in front of his mouth at all.
I was sat next to him in a wheelchair and am sure that I got some of the downward draft

YANBU.

I try to carry a spare packet of tissues at all times, specially for passive-aggressively offering train carriage sniffers a tissue when they're annoying me Grin

Ime men never carry a tissue in their pocket. The occasional one might have a jiffy pack of hankies (but probably his mother/wife gave it to him). So they always sniff, snort or resort to wiping on sleeves.
