It's our local village Christmas Fayre/ light switch on tomorrow. I normally have a pitch in a business capacity. Due to a mix up with organisers a pitch is no longer available for me.
I am seriously considering nort supporting event at all or is this petty?

People make mistakes

But it's up to you, I'm sure they won't miss one person

Yes petty. What about next year? Do you want to be dismissed as old sulky boots that didn't come last year?

In a village, a total absence will be noticed. For the sake of relations with the community, I'd put on a brave face and go. I might not spend much, though.

Surely it would be better for your business if you were there, even if you don't have a pitch. More often than not these events are more valuable as a way to be seen rather than a source of money making. Make yourself the pitch by going and talking to everyone and anyone who will listen to you. Free advertising :)

You need to go and be gracious and charming because then the local people will associate your business with gracious and charming.

The most unreasonable thing is the use of the spelling fayre.
