AIBU?

to let dh down tonight

Dh and I are on a working trip. It's been jolly hard work - great experience and all that but pretty relentless.
Tonight we are booked to go press the flesh at a shindig. It will definately be good for our firm to go and I know I should be really out there cracking on and making contacts etc but tbh I can't be arsed.
I want to stay in our room and watch trash and eat junk. I do not want to put on a frock and frigging tights and smile and talk business.
Dh is pretty devoted to the job tbh. He's never going to bunk off - it's not how he's made nd hes far too nice to sulk about me bunking off. Still aibu to basically let him down?

Can't you just go for half an hour? Or have a relaxing bath now and arrive at the event 30 mins late and nicely refreshed? But you should go.

Lots of people work hard til they're fit to drop.

Ask someone whose been down a mine all day or done a 14hr shift in a hospital if they'd like to swap that for putting on a frock and tights for the evening Grin

I can't believe I just used the word 'frock' in public Blush

I don't think I'd get away with arriving late and leaving early - bit noticeable really.
Ugh!

Ok, ok.

Is this a business you've set up together? Why should he do the schmoozing? You are basically saying you will take advantage of his good nature if you dont go. YABU and unfair.

Get your lippy on and go be charming. You'll feel cross at yourself if you don't - and you know the trash/junk option is wrong or you wouldn't be posting about it.

Fake period pains or diarrhoea. Something personal or disgusting! If that doesn't work I'll write you a sick note.

He wants to go doesn't he? Will he have fun? If so I don't see why you should have to go if you don't want to go and will be miserable.

Go

Get pissed

Swing your knickers above your head to a Tom Jones song

Seek out the most influential person there and drag him round the dance floor by the tie.

I guarantee your DH will beg you to stay home next time Grin

Lock your DH in it and commence eating junk and watching trashy tv.
