There is a large fire burning about a mile from my house. It started on the 16th June, yes, you read that right, the 16th. It has now been burning for 3 weeks and they have no clue when they can finally put it out.

I am BU, I know I am, they are doing everything they can to put the fecking thing out, but it means the following
D2 cannot go outside and play at her nursery, nor can they open the windows as the toxic smoke goes straight inside.
Everytime I drop ehr off I have to drive past the site, which irritates my eyes, even with the windows shut and vents shut, meaning I spend the next few hours with my eyes watering and stinging.
I cannot go to my nearest park (the local one is out of bounds due to drug dealing, all the others are too close to the fire and run the risk of smoke)
I cannot open my bedroom windows as even a bit of the smoke sets me off.

And I don't even live that close to the fecking thing, god knows how those living nearer to it are coping. The firebrigade are doing as much as they can but it is really starting to piss me off now.

Sorry for rantGrin

YNBU. It sounds like anyone would be pissed off.
But I'm sure you're right that they're doing everything they can to put it out.
What's burning that has been going so long without burning out or being put out?
You're also right that people closer to it must be having an awful time!

Blimey, do you live on top of an underground oil field?

YANBU to be pissed off. You've acknowledged they're doing there best but you're only human.

It's a tyre fire. 5000 tonnes of shredded tyre waste went up 3 weeks ago and they can't put it out easily. TBF they have worked out how to do it most efficiently but it's still a nightmare, here

It doesn't affect everyone this badly but the advice for locals is to stay indoors with the windows shut. Luckily it is raining again today which keeps it down. I just have really super sensitive eyes
