People complain alot about dog walkers not picking up dog poo and making walking in dog walking areas not pleasant - so what about picnickers who picnic in areas that are frequented by dogs and leave their remnants of a picnic behind - this can be just as much a health hazard to dogs who are natural scavengers - before you know it Fido has chicken bone in his mouth .

Picnic by all means but clear up to make it dog friendly afterwards - just like I clear up my dog poo so you can sit on clean grass !

Of course it is not only dogs that find the litter , the othe same applies to childen finding discarded or broken bottles etc - really fed up of people leaving litter about in this hot weather !

YANBU I really don't understand why people think leaving litter anywhere is acceptable.

Yabu. The whole point of having a picnic is to eat casually outdoors and forget about the clearing up for once.

YANBU I was horrified by the amount of litter left behind on the beach today! Plastic bags, crisp packets, beer cans, chip cartons etc just strewn about - it made me cross enough to kindly remind a family who were leaving the beach that they had appeared to have forgotten to pick up their rubbish

I'm really quite surprised that I didn't get a smack in the mouth or at very least be told to 'fuck off' Grin

YANBU. Went through a really nice local park earlier today and saw loads of picnic rubbish just left, I can't understand why anyone thinks it's ok.

Food being left behind wouldnt bother me, the wildlife will eat that, but litter is really annoying, and dangerous too.

CarnivalBizarre - I must be passive aggressive too then. I did the same thing. And avoided being punched by saying i'd take it for them. It really pisses me off. These people were locals too.

WowOoo I chased after them with a carrier bag Grin

I was already mighty pissed off after watching a woman let her dog shit in the sand and then kick sand over it rather than pick it up - I offered her a bag too ....jeez I sound like a crazy bag lady!

YANBU we always tried to leave any picnic spot looking as if noone had ever been there when we left(always took away more than we had brought).

I don't understand why people drop litter. I mean, genuinely, what do they think happens to it? Do they think "let's just leave our crap here in this beautiful spot, and spoil it for everyone else, and create a hazard for wildlife, and attract vermin", do they think there's a magic litter fairy, or do they simply have the attention span of gnats and forget about it the second they've dropped it on the ground? Really pisses me off. It's so bloody antisocial.
