AIBU?

to want to buy a non padded underwired bra

HotCrossJins · 20/04/2011 19:04

because the shops think I am!

I hate these solid padded things that seem to be all I can find in my size. I guess they must think that anyone who needs a 34B must want to look bigger. I even braved M&S with no luck.

Any ideas?

I'm 34B and I buy plain sheer underwired from M&S.
I don't want to look bigger. There's plenty there already!

I couldn't find them today. I may have to buy online.

34B is plenty big enough - I agree.

I have one or two Freya ones, got them in Debenhams.

M&S do have them (am wearing one now) but you have to hunt to find the ones that aren't grannyish. Also Elle McPherson, Freya, Cacherel. And Princess Tam Tam. look on Figleaves.com too

YANBU. Although I don't think it's necessarily size related, if you want anything seamfree sort of style they seem to include some level of padding even if you're looking at 32ff!

Debenhams is too far :(

Online it is. There's quite a lot online that I didn't see in store

Oooh figleaves. I'd forgotten about them. Although from my quick look so far everything looks a bit structural.

YANBU. I loathe those foam shaped solid cups.
You can see them through clothes - who buys them??? Confused

No, you are not being U!

I may be though because I want a NON underwired bra that isn't padded but is cotton. And isn't a sports bra thing. And doesn't look like something that my granny would have worn.

I'm a 38C. AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH. I hate wired bras, they make me very very uncomfortable and it is getting harder and harder to find them.

I am another with small but 'perfectly' formed 36A boobies who HATES padding of any kind, even those sort of extra thick ones which the M&S link one looks like. I used to love the Sloggi Sensual ones but they disappeared. They were simple and fairly flimsy but did the job for me given that I have a very small handful to deal with! So I have now stopped wearing a bra, I just wear a vest to prevent excess jiggle and disguise near on permanent nipple erection. It looks bloody awful but at least I am comfy.

"I even braved M&S with no luck."

There are loads of unpadded bras in M & S. Was it a very small branch?

Thos of us who are unlucky enough to only manage to fill an AA cup. Count yourself lucky that you have sufficient curves not to need any extra help.

This may sound an odd suggestion, but I buy some bras from Avon. Perhaps they could help? (I'm not sure if the smaller sizes are padded or not, but large ones certainly aren't)

I always buy those, never any other. I hate bras you can see, especially under white tops.

They have always had them in any M&S I've been in. I think there's a buy one get one half price offer on ATM.
Enjoy!

M&S have definitely recently improved their range, - used to be you went past a DD and they were industrial strength over-shoudler-boulder-holders, but I have noticed they are much more big boob friendly these days.

It was a small branch and I didn't have a lot of time.

I found the perfect thing in Tesco last time I needed bras but all of theirs now seem to be heavily padded and/or lacy.

I don't want pretty, I just want comfortable
