Seems like the perfect time to roll out that quote.

So some of you may remember my problems with HDNL in the run up to Christmas, with them sitting on DF's xmas present (a PS3 from Amazon) for about two weeks while I emailed and phoned relentlessly, it eventually got delivered by Yodel after I emailed them.

Well guess what DF ordered a blu-ray player from Play.com in their sale for my birthday present and that hasn't turned up, this time it's worse, the parcel tracker says "awaiting receipt of parcel" it's said that for a week, which after a good google I've found means they are still waiting for Play.com to give them the thing, meanwhile Play.com themselves have refunded the thing, minus £5.85 which they are trying to scam out of him for return postage on an "unwanted order", according to them he got it, decided he didn't want it and sent it back.

if they continue with that line of bullshit he's going to inform the credit card company of a fraudulent transaction.

So two large ordered from online retailers that use couriers in two months and both have in some way or another gone tits up and caused hassle, well sod this if it's too big to be dispatched via royal mail I'm buying it in a shop.

He's going to HMV after work to buy me a Blu-Ray player in their sale.

Try blockbuster for the bluray player. Might be cheaper and you often get vouchers for rentals and things.

Contact Consumer Direct for any quibbles over despatch costs. Even if you did return the item, if you did so within 7 days, they have to refund you the full cost INCLUDING POSTAGE under the distance selling regulations (though they don't have to cover the cost of you returning it)

Not that its relevant, if you never even got it then they are taking the piss and yes you are also covered under the consumer credit act.

Yeah but the PS3 is his christmas present, the blu-ray is my birthday present.

anyway I wouldn't wear out a £250 console playing movies you can watch on a £99 Blu-Ray player.

We will see what the idiots say on the phone, but as I said two orders in two months and two fuck ups that need sorting not worth the hassle if you can buy it in a shop, HMV are selling exactly the same model I wanted for exactly the same price shame I didn't go Westfield HMV before he ordered the thing, Bluckbuster are not selling that one.
