I hate perfume ads too.... they're just so odd!

You're right. And the stupid thing is, fragrance is one of the few things that can't really be effectively advertised on tv. You need to smell it surely? What if you're looking at an advert thinking 'ooh, she's pretty, and that bottle looks nice, and that's my fave song playing in the background', and then you buy the stuff and it smells minging?

Exactly! And let's be honest once we find a fragrance we like we tend to stick with it.

The other 10% (at least) are alcohol adverts, usually some nasty sweet gunk you wouldn't ever choose to buy normally ( that should be on the Pointless thread Grin)

We've got one of those recording boxes so you just start recording, begin watching about 15 mins after the start (or more for some American series), then you can fast forward through the ads. I think the only perfume ad I've seen this year is the Beckham one.

anyone that buys a fragrance SOLELY on the basis of the ad without having any idea of the smell, deserves it to smell like gnat's piss Hmm
