I work for a large multi-national and we've been sent guidelines about how to keep safe this Christmas.

It includes things like making sure decs aren't in front of heaters and not driving after a drink.(no we're not children, but that's another thing!)

Also that it is much safer to put decorations up after everyone's gone home, so that people aren't in the way.

Mistletoe also banned (even at parties) but that might be for the best

They are just covering themselves in case one silly billy does decide to wrap tinsel round the gas heaters or drink 6 glasses of warm white wine and climb up a ladder on a random Tuesday morning.

I love reading out the highlights of some of the memos/policies we get. The more ludicrous points cause me amusement

Well, if they let you put up decorations, and don't tell you not to put them round the heaters, there'll be trouble if a fire starts. Ditto if they're letting you have a drink on work time, or a long lunch etc and might drive home.
