to pee in a sink?

Yesterday, I was out shopping with 8 week old DS at retail park type place. I used the public baby change room to feed him as he was suddenly very hungry - like they do, from asleep to starving with no warning - and it was closer than starbucks!

Now, my pelvic floor is still not what it was (will it ever be?) and I was really hoping there would be a loo in the baby room - there was not. I had a buggy full of shopping, baby in sling and was on my own. He has reflux and needs to kept upright after feeds, hence carrying baby and wheeling shopping.

He fed for ages and I was getting more and more desperate, so when he finished I peed in the handwashing sink

Is this really gross, or reasonable. It's not something I've ever considered before. I couldn't be arsed juggling all the shoppping / baby / sling etc into the loo's . . .

Just so you know - I did give it a good rinse with the handwash and wiped (the sink) with paper towels.

I'm intigued as to how you managed with baby in sling...I've not tried using the loo with the baby strapped on, I didn't think it would be do-able . Does everyone do this?

How on earth did you manage that? Aren't the sinks a bit high for that kind of thing...?

you were desperate. i have tried getting a buggy with loads of shopping into a cubicle. it doesn't happen. was the sink a low down one? i have BF on the loo so i can see how weeing with teh sling on could work.

Stayed overnight at an Oxford college and asking where the toilets were - down the stairs and across the quad - and I remarked that must be really inconvenient in the night, only to be told what did I think most of the students used the sinks in their rooms for [boak]

It's always confused me that there aren't toilets in the baby changing areas, meaning queueing up once for the baby change/feed area, then again when you need the loo... daft!

One of the fabulous tips I've gleaned from MN is that a disposable nappy will absorb an adult size wee, I always carry a spare and one in the glovebox of car.
This saved my bacon (or car upholstery at least) stuck on M1 for hours in blizzard last winter, in the dark thankfully

the logistics looked easier than struggling off to the loo with all my crap DS. I didn't consider if it would take my weight until sat on the sink though!

Saw an implement in a camping catalogue. A funnel thing attached to a long clear coloured plastic hose.

Appaently it's for ladies to use when out camping. I guess it would serve the same purpose if you kept one with you to use in emergencies. You would probably have to be wearing a skirt or dress though.

When i lived in a nurses home we had sinks in our bedrooms.
We had to walk down long corridors to the loos in the night....
We all peed in our sinks.
Especially when we were drunk.
