Could this be a reflux thing?

massage. for him, but also for you.
lots of time out for you. when you are calmer, you will deal with the situation more calmly.
try going to a proper homeopathic doctor, (as opposed to just trying something someone recommends iyswim)
start him on solids. if it is a milk intolerance, the perhaps it will help once he takes less milk, and more nutrition from other foods? the advice used to be three months to start solids, then it was upped to 16 weeks, then to four months, now its at six. so at five months, i'd say you could always try some.
have you checked with the doctors to rule out any sort of stomach valve problems?

Sounds just like my DD - reflux. She grew out of it once she could walk.

My sympathies, been there and it is horrible...

Could you test him out for a couple of days on something like Wysoy? Just to see if it's cow's milk that he has a problem with?
