My 8 month old has a rash on her face. I suspect it is from food that she rubs around, but I could be wrong. it's pretty bright red and I am not sure how to figure out what it's from.
Ideas?

What has she eaten?...Tomato & citrus fruits are quite common for causing rashes...My 3yr old charge still has a slight rash around her mouth when she gets either on her skin.

the newest food she has been given lately is baby yogurt and cauliflower. No citrus or tomato yet.
dinner is usually a combination of potato, pumpkin, carrots, courgettes, beans, peas, she gets chicken too...

I'd have a look at the ingredients in the baby yoghurt, it may be a slight reaction to cow's milk if they contain it & she hasn't had it before?

good idea.
I think it is special baby yogurt which I thought didn't have cows milk in it for that reason. They give it to her at creche, so I will check next time I am there

just read up on baby yogurt, it does have cows milk (duh) but it is apparently easier to digest when they are little

She can have a slight reaction but it's not necessarily something you have to avoid yet, give it a bit of time.

It may not be an allergy at all - my children used to get a red rash on their cheeks and chin if their sleeves or a collar of their tops got damp and wasn't changed at once. It only took a few minutes for the damp fabric to rub enough to make their skin red. Nightmare with ds, who was a sleeve chewer!

My ds (2) has a similar thing - triggered I think by suncream but wipes are making it worse. Could it be caused by suncream?

Anyone know what wipes are good for this kind of thing - Huggies sensitive are causing a problem I think

Wipes, perhaps, if you're using them to clean her face.

Also, my DD1 is allergic to SLSs in many shampoos and soaps and get a rash from them.

DS used to get a rash around his mouth and chin just from dribbling etc. Wipes made it worse, just mopping dribble helps, and yogurt from around his mouth.

DS2 used to get a red rash because his fleecy hood rubbed his cheeks. Has she started wearing a sunhat with flaps perhaps? or a high collar?

what do they wipe her with at nursery? DS gets a rash if they clean his face with baby wipes instead of water.
