Hi KT36, sorry you're dd is having a tough time, my DD is on a wheat/gluten free diet and takes packed lunches to school but to my knowledge has never had any problems with other children.

Have you spoken to the head and asked to look at the bullying policy for the school?, perhaps you could print of some info to show the staff n helpfully boost their unerstanding of the condition.

I'm sure that others with more experience will be along soon.

Hi, DD is nine years old, she takes (but hates!) gluten free bread- home made with a filling or rice cakes/GF crackers with cheese, lots of fruit (very lucky as she loves fruit, yoghurt, apple juice and then either something like snakajacks or popcorn and followed by a GF cake- the school has very strict rules about no chocolate in school but she is allowed too. (which makes her feel very special!!

School have been fantastic but it 's really down to the fact that the head also suffrs from wheat intolerance and crohns disease.

If you check your local authority website, they may have a list of school meals on it. That way you could see if there's anything DD would like. It might also give you a number to contact the catering company with and have a chat to them.

Just read your last post so mine is a bit pointless. Is there another school you could move DD to. I know it sounds a bit drastic but she may be happier in the long run.

Jimjams our school only offers 2 meals a week that she can safely eat.

KT36. I think that it would be a good idea to print some resources from coeliacs society, also if you have a dietician could you ask them to go and talk to the school staff?

The school has to get the meals in specially for him. (It's a state school). Initially he was given one meal, but the teachers told the kitchen that wasn't fair because everyone else had a choice, so now he gets a choice of two meals each day.
