Well that's it really! Does anyone? We are pretty sure that DS has a problem with sunflower, well seeds altogether but I haven't found anything without all three myself .......

Sorry, it does have cows' milk whey in (less than 21%, more than 1.6%) and also lactic acid.

You could try Tomor margarine - it's kosher but a lot of the supermarkets carry it. Here's the list of ingredients:

Vegetable And Hydrogenated Vegetable Oils, Water, Salt, Colour: Beta-Carotene, Flavouring, Vitamin A and D2

"Vegetable" could be soy or sunflower though, you'd need to check. (But often it's rapeseed so that would be OK?)

That was the ingredient list for the "hard block margarine" not the one in the tub by the way. I think the one in the tub is sunflower.

Tomor is made by a company called Rakusens, you could phone and check:

Isn't there an olive oil version of the Pure margarines?

Vitaquell maybe? Ask in a health food shop - a good one will be able to advise you.

Apparently there isn't an olive oil version any more although I thought I@d bought it before.

Vitalite is vegan and I think it's soy free too.

we didn't bother with spread with dd when she was young and had all her allergies

if she needed a savoury sandwich, I'd mush some avocado and spread it lightly on the bread before putting the filling on

the other option is to use oil

Actually, can you manage without margarine? You can make cakes and things with oil, even pastry, and there are other things you can spread...

Suma make an Olive Spread in addition to their Sunflower Spread. They are vegan (I think), so no dairy, but you could contact them - 01422 313845 [email protected] - and ask. Available in wholefood shops.

Gosh, thanks everyone - I didn't think there would be such a response. I shall write down all the ideas. He does have avocado sometimes and oil, but his spreads are so limited due to his allergies ie no houmous, nut spreads etc and he loves margarine that I thought it was worth asking. I shall go off with my new info and find out. Thank you.
