my 20mths ds has a red rash all over his face

Hi,
I dont know if it is an allergy, he hasnt had anything new or different in the last few days . Hes had a cough and cold the last few days and been a bit run down, he also had his pnumecocal (sp?)jab on tuesday. Its only on his face and is red dots, blotches and his face appears a bit blotchy. It doesnt seem to be bothering him. I phoned nhs direct this am and they said ito phone the GP who said he didnt know what it was but as he was alert etc not to worry.Has anyone any idea what it may be?
