In-shower emollient

It seems to me that these are basically greasy emulsions.

Because of my allergies there are very few that I can use - TBH I haven't found anything that is actually clear of all my triggers, and I'm having to make-do with stuff I don't feel entirely comfortable about.

Is there any reason why I shouldn't make up my own blend of oils and waxes out of stuff that I know I'm OK with?

Is there anything essential to an in-shower moisturiser?

Does it have to be an emulsion? The only way I know of making a reliable emulsion is using egg yolk mayonnaise-style.

If you take a look at Suki products, they're so pure you can eat them (though I doubt they'd taste yummy!). However, as a hairdresser, if you're suffering from oily scalp, exfoliate with sugar, it will unclog the follicles without damaging the hair, also if it's moisture you need, Paul Mitchell Awapuhi shampoo makes a nice body wash, and also the Awapuhi Moisture Mist from Paul Mitchell for instant bursts of moisture during the day.

There's no reason you can't make your own, and it can be water based, however, start with very weak concentrates and work your way up until you mildly overload, and then go back to your last known 'good' concentration.
