dd for a little while has got raised red patches which were on her back and legs and are now starting to appear on her arms and even her face. I took her to the gp when I spotted the first one and he prescribed a mild steriod cream. Some days the patches are fine and barely noticeable but we have not lond finished bathing her and they were v angry esp ones on the back, I'm beginning to think its eczema but not sure I know there are different types but how on earth do you pinpoint which? oh and did buy specific bubble bath for dry or eczema skin types but also bought baby organics lavendar/chamomile?? body cream but should I still use it Smile

It looks like it could be. Problem with eczema is that eczema is different in every child and each child reacts better or worse to each cream, so it becomes a pilgrimage of cream testing until you find the one that works for your child. The only thing that I can suggest is to try to buy Aveeno lotion (is sold at Boots), it works for almost every one.

As for the bubble baths, everything with the word bubble is better to be avoided. Oilatum Plus is very good (much better than original Oilatum), you can get it on prescription. Many mums here recommend to use oat flakes (put some in a soc and let the hot water for the bath to run through them). I would be inclined to say that almost every baby bath product that is sold commercially is not exactly good for babies' skin.
