Not so stealth boasting

I need to apologise in advance for some not so stealth boasting about DD. You have all been so supportive in the past when I've been struggling that I just wanted to share some positive news about DD. I've just had her school report and she is meeting all the expected standards for her age, has passed the dreaded phonics check with flying colours and is doing well with her reading. I am so so proud of her, not least because she has overcome so many early obstacles to 'catch up' with her peers. This is a little girl who up until the age of 2 had never held or had a book read to her and who thought what you did with a book was scribble on it.

I don't want to be the archetypal irritating smug bastard pushy parent but I'm so so proud of her (and feeling just a teensy bit smug for myself!) Wink

Hey, if you can't boast here about your ADD, where can you boast?

Congratulations.

Well done your DD! You have every right to be proud of how well she's doing and especially how far she's come.

I was doubly proud of mine when the one with a less than stellar report (complex issues, challenging behaviour, ASD), read the glowing report of the other DC AND CONGRATULATED THEM. Grin

Well done mini poppy and well done mummy poppy!! Fruitshoot and processo emoji

We don't do stealth boasting at MintyTowers, we shout it out loud and proud haha

I almost cried last week when DS said book story and sat on my knee after picking a book out, he has speech delay so the fact he said it was lovely but it was the first time he wanted to sit and have me read to him, prior to this I was reading to the room whilst he ran laps! He's even stopped trying to rip out the pages Grin

That is an amazing post to read! Well done team Poppy!
We are about to have a sibling group placed with us, and one of them is extremely delayed. I love reading stories where children have overcome (to whatever extent) some of their problems. It gives me so much hope, so please, boast away!! X
