Gift for celebration day?

A friend of mine has invited us to her DD's celebration day next week at the county court and then they're having a gathering afterwards.

I was just wondering if anyone had any gift ideas at all? I know nothing about Celebration Days or even if we're supposed to buy a gift. And is the gift for the child or for the parents too? Any help would be much appreciated!

I hadn't heard of a Celebration Day before, so I've learned something new today!

I think a small gift would be nice - how old is she?

Awwwww how lovely. In addition to age of their DD, how long has she been with them?

I think a lovely keepsake of sorts. Maybe you could pay for a sitting at a photo studio so they can go soonish as a momento? Or take your camera get a beautiful photo of the family and purchase a pretty frame as a memory of the day?

I would think any gift would be appreciated, toy for the little one, keepsake, anything really.... It's a celebration of it all being official and the family will have pictures with the judge in his chambers first :-) a great day

Thoughtful of you to want to buy an appropriate gift.
You could go down the route of a toy for the child to play with, a keepsake eg something one would buy for a christening, a special book, a lovely photo frame for the family, a bottle of champagne for the parents.
I am sure the family will be thrilled with whatever you decide to buy.

Thanks, these are all great ideas. I think I'll look for something tomorrow.

She's just turned 3. I feel totally honoured to be invited to something so special.

Hi we had our Celebration Day last month and it was magical. Unfortunately the judge refused to have her photo taken which was disappointing but she did give us some party poppers to let off in the court it was mad as we had over 20 guests! Kindly some people bought gifts ones that spring to mind are special adoption books, personalised photo frame with the children's new surname, bespoke silver jewellry (ours are 3 and 4) so will keep and a very nice bottle of champagne. Taking a nice photo of the day and framing it would be a lovely momento. Enjoy the day you sound a lovely friend
