What stage are you at?
It's procedure for them to write to your GP to request a medical, which would ask questions about any medical conditions.
This then goes to their medical expert who writes a short report for panel. It could just be part of that.....

Forgive me if I am incorrect, but I believe that no one can access your medical records. They will ask you to have a medical and your GP will report back to SS's but actually reading your medical records? I think not.
Likewise we (or SS's) cannot access the medical records of the BP's of our children.
Best of luck

If you sign the permission form for them they can access and read your medical records

I don't have any experience with this, I just had the standard medical, but I don't have any medical conditions so there was nothing else for them to consider. I have heard other adoptive parents online telling their stories, and they had more extensive medical investigations, which included reports, questionning their consultants, and possibly medical records access, but they had conditions like Cystic Fibrosis, or a period of psychosis/sectioned when much younger, so SS wanted to be very thorough. Both the people I'm thinking of were approved and adopted!

How do you feel about the SW viewing your records? Is it something you'd be okay with, but you're worried about being rejected after, or do you have a problem with them looking in your records anyway?

I don't think you should be very worried, unless there's anything serious in your records that you and/or the GP haven't told them about, but then I'm not saying that based on any experience. It may be they want more information than the medical has given them?

I would ask who exactly wants to see your medical records. It may well be the medical advisor wants to see them after reviewing your medical - I would be slightly Hmm at the idea of a social worker seeing them... what are they going to do? Disagree with your GP?! More likely that MA has read your medical it might make reference to your health condition and he wants to read what your records say.

I had issues with my medical in the days when it was done really close to panel and it delayed my approval. But medical advisor at the time said he would not contradict what my GP said (I had problems with my GP not agreeing with the adoption) and was only there to advise panel on any medical issues. SO it may well be that he just wants to know the background.

I would definitely check first why and who is requesting them though.
